About

I’m a comic book artist and freelance illustrator. My work has appeared in the Abercrombie and Fitch Quarterly, Top Shelf 2.0, and Fusanosuke Natsume’s World Comic Culture. I am a former professional teacher who also has taught classes in comic book creation. I used to author a blog on the creation of sequential art that was highlighted in The Comics Journal, Publishers Weekly, and The School Library Journal. I spent time in Tokyo, interviewing and learning from great mangaka including Jiro Taniguchi, Katsuya Terada, Masuzo Furukawa, and Naoki Urasawa. I hold a bachelor’s degree in painting from Yale University. I was born and raised in the small town of Fort Fairfield, Maine. I spent significant periods of my life in New York, New Haven, and New Orleans. I live in Washington, DC.
